Our client, a mid-size company is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team for a long-term contract, with the possibility to join the team on a permanent basis. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Senior Accountant with processing payments, entering invoices and maintaining the General Ledger. In addition, the Junior Accountant will be supporting the accounting department. The ideal candidate must be focused and well-organized.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

Responsibilities for the Junior Accountant:

  • Completing chargebacks
  • Verifying vendor accounts
  • Reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Verifying bank reconciliations for all bank accounts in the company
  • Reviewing and responding to supplier inquiries
  • Processing, matching, and filing accounts payable checks
  • Running and reviewing various financial reports
  • Managing cash receipt deposits
  • Ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos

Qualifications for the Junior Accountant:

  • 1-2 years of experience, open to recent grads
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups)
  • Quickbooks is a plus
  • Fundamentals of GAAP
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
